The Collective is a tertiary program proposing a 6-week residency open to both creative practitioners of New Zealand and abroad. The program supports the concept of original thought and how this is achieved through collaborative creative practice. Combining two pre-existing knowledges has the ability to evoke new and innovative ideas, through social and cultural boundaries. Applications will be open to those who utilise a level of craft and labour in their general daily practice, with consideration of the creative disciplines that already exist in the proposed site.

Established national residents will be collaborated with international residents sourced from a range of foreign locations. The two will work together to create a collective body of work across the duration of their daily inhabitation, within their given workspace on Level A of Block 10. This space is flexible to not only being a workspace, but also an exhibitive event space, showcasing the collaborative-creations at the end of each 6-week residency. Overall, this programme provides opportunity for exchange, exposure and experience within under-utilised transitionary spaces.
